We bought our first home in 2020 and I decided I was tired of waiting for our dream home to happen and decided I was going to start creating it with my own two hands. I am a fearless, self-taught DIY-er. I’m not a professional and I want to show you that you don’t have to be either.

It’s easy to feel intimidated by big DIY projects but if you take it one step at a time you will be so amazed at what you are capable of. The best part is that with each new project you develop skills and learn new power tools that will help you with your NEXT project! 💪🏼 As my confidence has grown, so have my projects… now I’m tackling things I wouldn’t of dreamed of! WE CAN DO HARD THINGS!

There is no better feeling than looking around and knowing you made your house a home with your own two hands!

Today is a BIG day for me 🎉 today is my first official day as full-time @comestayawhile ! It’s pretty crazy to look back at all I have accomplished over the last 2 years and it feels surreal that today I start this next chapter of my life that is all things Come Stay Awhile!

I’ve gotta be honest today was a bit frustrating

I’ve gotta be honest today was a bit frustrating… I woke up super excited about starting the headboard build project and quickly learned that cutting down my 4x4 posts wasn’t as easy as I was hoping. I felt like everything was going wrong all day.
.
It’s important to me that I share all sides of projects with you… the wins, the fails and the frustrations. Its easy to get caught up in big, pretty reveals on here but I think showing you the real side of the journey paints a full picture for you.
.
Can it be frustrating? Absolutely. But when we persevere we learn SO much in the process that makes us better for our next project. I know we will get to the finish line… I know I have what it takes and tomorrow is a new day! Just here to encourage you that we all go through the frustrating days and it makes the good ones that much sweeter!

PS. Anyone have tips for ripping 4x4 posts most efficiently?

I have a secret… 🤫 are you ready?

If you’ve been around here since the beginning you know I started with ✨BIG✨ dreams for Come Stay Awhile. I felt a nudge from God to start a community that would empower women and be a place where people could come to be lifted up, encouraged and find a little bit of light in a sometimes dark world. It was scary to step out in faith… the fear of failing publicly, the fear of the unknown.
.
But I decided to be obedient and persevere and I am so excited to announce that after 2.5 years of hustle and hard work behind the scenes I am finally able to leave my regular job (if you didn’t know, I work as a website developer - until now 😉) and pursue Come Stay Awhile FULL FORCE. Like… this is IT! I am so grateful that I accepted that call that I felt like God had on my life to launch this community. I always looked up to people who were able to do this full time and make an income for their families and now I am living my dream!
.
This community become one of my greatest treasures and something I love waking up each day to pursue. YOU are a huge part of this so I wanted to celebrate with you. If you weren’t here to follow along, I couldn’t do what I do.
