This project sucked every bit of life out of me 😂 but I am so glad I persevered! Before tackling this project, I had never demoed, drywalled, tiled OR grouted. I sound super prepared for a project like this, right? 😂🤪 Never underestimate the power of hard work and determination! Take it one step at a time! Making progress slowly but surely! . Things I’v Making progress slowly but surely! . Things I’ve learned today: 1. Herringbone probably isn’t the best pattern to do for your first time tiling 2. You need a raincoat for the wet saw 3. If you don’t give up, you will learn a lot in the process! . I’ll be honest, I’ve almost thrown in the towel about 4 times during this project. Today, I wanted to quit but I had to remind myself... remember when you couldn’t get the tile off so you took a hammer to the wall? Remember when you didn’t know how to do drywall, but you researched and DID IT? This is no different! Learning is all about trial and error and we are finally making progress! The finish line is so close! . When we moved into this house, garage storage and functionality was at the top of our priority list. We decided to kick off 2021 by finally tackling the garage! I decided that instead of spending the next 10 years chiseling away each tile to just cut away the drywall and replace it. Should be easy enough? 😂 I was sitting here looking at this mess I’ve made and thinking... Amanda... who do you think you are?! 😂 I am by no means a drywaller! Heck, I just started calling myself a real DIYer like 2 months ago. . It’s important to me that I learn and G R O W this year. (Remember, that’s my word for 2021) so even when I know have a skill or haven’t done a project before... that’s not holding me back! GO FOR IT and learn as you go! You’ll never regret it and there’s nothing that can’t end up being hired out if you realllly get in a pinch! .
